It is difficult not to find yourself with mixed feelings when a year is coming to an end. When the year had some hrs left we had the chance to visit a magical place in Miches, Dominican Republic, half an hour away from Bávaro, Punta Cana called Montaña Redonda (Round Mountain). Visiting this place helped fade away some of these feelings.

When you get there, which you can go either with a tour or by yourself, there are trucks that take you up the hill for around US$22, RD$1,100 (truck + entrance fee) for groups under 10 people. The path going up is a bit steep but it worth it once you are in the top of the mountain winch is 1,000 feet high. Some people go up with their 4×4 vehicle but I suggest using their trucks.

From the top, you can see the breathtaking views at all 360°.  At moments it is difficult to identify the line that divides the sea from the sky providing an incredible sensation. You will see places like Samana Bay, Laguna Redonda, El Limón, Miches, and el Seibo.

People can’t leave the mountain without taking a nice picture on the swings and simulate you are flying or even a funny shot of yourself flying with a broomstick!

Whether you are looking for peace, adventure, take great photo shots, find time to get in contact with nature or even to set some personal goals, this place is absolutely worth visiting.
